Newcastle Falcons Player Profiles

This page is dedicated to some of the fine players who play for the Newcastle Falcons. Wherever possible, I will try and include some stats about them from this season.

Gary Graham

His form from two seasons ago earned Gary a call up to the Scotland squad and he represented his country in the Autumn internationals, and, although he maybe hasn't been as consistent as deserving another call up, he is still integral to any successes we might have. Graham is strong and gets through a power of work throughout a game. He is good with the ball in hand and has driven us forward on many occasion over the past few years. His dad is a former Scotland international forward and his younger brother is also at the Falcons.

Adam Radwan

Without a doubt, Adam Radwan is the most exciting prospect at the club. He has scored a load of tries for us this season and is quite simply the fastest player in the league. He has scored many tries where he has beat three or more players this season. He chooses better and better running lines which has still kept him effective despite increased attention by opposition players as the season has gone on. His excellent form does make me think we should have given him many more opportunities last season when we were relegated. I know he has signed a new contract, but am worried he will go the way of Watson and Kibirige and sign for one of our rivals sooner rather than later.

Nemani Negusa

Nemani Negusa is a Fijian back-rower who has represented his country at both fifteens and sevens. He is exceptionally strong and powerful. To be honest, he is much stronger than most in the league and our forwards look much more intimidating when he is in the side. He carries the ball well, as you would expect from someone with his background, and is actually a bit quicker than you might think. Again, he is another of the current squad who will be vital for us in our attempts to avoid relegation from the Premiership next season.

SSinoti

Sinoti Sinoti

Noone had heard of Sinoti when he joined part-way through one of the previous seasons. That has certainly changed now. He is a bit older now, and is not quite as electric as he once was, but he is still more than capable of beating a man. His ability to change direction at speed still gets bums off seats and, like Radwan, even though he is heavily marked at this level, he still manages to make significant contributions to our performances. And, let's face it, even if he didn't, he is still great fun to watch!

MWilson

Mark Wilson

England international and back-rower Wilson is currently on loan at Sale, but will be returning for next season. His performances have been excellent for both us and England, and we are very happy the local(-ish) lad has decided to stick to his roots at Kingston Park. Wilson is strong and effective in the tackle and gets through a power of work on the field. He leads by example and is one of the few players who really can play at 6, 7 or 8. My personal preference is that he plays at 6, although I think he will be needed in a variety of different roles if we are to stay up next season.

JWilliams

Johnny Williams

Johnny Williams is a cancer survivor and it is testimony to his determination and mental resolve that he returned to play so quickly after suffering such a debilitating illness. Now that Josh Matavesi has gone, and despite understandably losing a fair amount of bulk, Johnny will be vital for us as a ball-carrying centre who is able to burst through the opposition lines. I really hope he can get back to both his pre-illness form and strength, as he would be another player who really is of a good Premiership standard. And his story is such a good one that it promotes positivity throughout the entire club.
